A traditional craftsman

In the 1980s, Giorgio Junior began looking into new lines to optimize vessels’ aerodynamic loads. For the first time, smooth topsides, reminiscent of racecars, started appearing on the water. The arrow-shaped hull typical of the GR2 was developed on the basis of these first prototypes designed to overcome air drag, eliminating any time of friction. Subsequent advances in the hull design led to the creation of an innovative “e-boat” featuring hitherto undreamed-of performance.
The aspect that has never changed is the process used to create each and every one of our vessels. Yesterday and today, accomplished craftsmanship serves as the foundation for developing a new generation of vessels. Even now, classic wooden miniature boats serve as the inspiration for all Volta Boats. Starting from these small-scale structures, traditional design methods come into play for the painstaking assembly of full-scale models used for the first tests in a marine environment.
